Skicarriage.co.uk launches economy service
Wednesday 02 December 2009
The ski carriage company, which aims to take the hassle out of getting your hardwear to resort, has unveiled a new economy service that strips right back to the essentials
The website, which launched this summer, is now offering an economy service along side its existing standard one.
The standard package, which is aimed at skiers and snowboarders taking more than one trip in a season, includes collection from your home, delivery to your holiday destination, servicing after each trip, storage between trips and the return of your skis or snowboard at the end of the season.
The new economy service strips right back to the essentials, and simply includes collection, delivery to resort and the return of your equipment after the holiday. No servicing or storage is included, but skis and snowboards are still transported with the same care as for the standard package in Sportubes.
Under the standard package two people (living at the same address) going to France twice in a season and taking one pair of skis each would pay £370, which includes an annual membership fee of £22. With the new economoy service, two people going to France once with a pair of skis each would pay £132.
This compares to £160 at Ryanair.com, the cost of transporting two pairs of skis (if booked online), excluding both collection and return from your home addess. A Sportube for one pair of skis costs £89.99 at www.skibartlett.com
Ski carriage covers countries in Europe and North America. For more information on transporting your hardwear visit www.skicarriage.co.uk
